Here are some samplings of my work. Most of my work consists of projects I’ve done for the University at Buffalo and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County. I am going to be posting more work over the next couple months.

Visual Design, HTML5, CSS3 | Sept. 2008

This is the main website I maintain. It was completed in early 2008 and we are hoping to re-design it in 2012. The site has many different systems running on it like, Exlibris’ Aleph, OCLC’s ContentDM, VuFind, XTF (Finding Aids), various ASP databases and about 1500+ static HTML pages. A new design will incorporate more HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and a 960px width.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County

Visual Design, XHTML | Dec. 2007

I designed and built this site before I was well versed in CSS so it was built with tables (I know, BAD.) I plan on doing a new design with WordPress, HTML5 and CSS3 before the end of 2011.

48 Good Books Project

Visual Design, HTML5, CSS3 | Mar. 2011

In cooperation with the UB Libraries, the UB Undergraduate Academies organized the Good Books project, a list of 48 good books which embody the mission and spirit of the three Undergraduate Academies: Civic Engagement, Global Perspectives and Research Exploration. I experimented with some new CSS3 properties and media queries. While I couldn’t spend a ton of time working on this site, I think it works for what the two University units were looking for.

UB Libraries Catalog

Visual Design, HTML, CSS | Sept. 2010

VuFind was chosen as our new catalog software at the UB Libraries. VuFind was developed at Villanova University and is an open source library catalog that can be linked to the Aleph backend. The catalog is still in beta and not finalized. The interface was extremely easy to customize as it uses PHP Smarty templates and CSS.

Libraries Web App

Visual Design, HTML5, CSS3 | Apr. 2009

We saw a spike in our mobile traffic in 2009 and decided to build a mobile web app for library.buffalo.edu. We thought about using media queries, but our site is filled with SO much information we decided it would be easier to build a separate mobile experience. We took the most important aspects of our site and came up with a clean and simple mobile experience. I am playing around with the idea of using Sencha Touch and PhoneGap for our new mobile web app. Phone Gap would give us the ability to create an iOS and Android native app.

*You can access the mobile web app by going to library.buffalo.edu with any iOS or Android device.

Voip X

Visual Design | Sept. 2006

Voip X is a small company that sells Voice Over Internet Protocol. The client wanted to see a contrast in colors, so I choose a deep navy blue and a more vibrant yellow.
